Summary
Kamado Tanjiro had been in high school for one whole month. Despite his social awkwardness, he’d joined the Judo Club, and that was where he met the third-year Rengoku Kyojuro.
Who may or may not be the single most beautiful omega Tanjiro had ever stumbled across in his handful of years on this planet, but that was neither here nor there. He was far to nervous to even talk to Rengoku, much less act on this crush that had taken up residence in his heart uninvited. So he did the only thing he could think of, which was avoid the object of these rapidly developing affections for all he was worth.
Rengoku was just trying to figure out how he’d managed to scare away the first alpha he’d ever crushed on in any capacity, and Shinobu wasn’t about to let this budding little romance escape without a fight, even if that required some scheming.
{In which Rengoku and Tanjiro get locked in a storage closet, Shinobu definitely deserved more credit for plotting this whole thing, and some stuffy circulation can send two people tumbling straight into each other’s arms, quite literally}

Summary
Kyojuro was fine. For the first time in his life, he had someone who wanted him as an omega, and their courtship had been going well. Sure, maybe he didn’t have quite enough time to spend on them, but Tanjiro never seemed to mind. He was always so cheerful. With a smile so serene it seemed to make time stand still.
But for Kyojuro? Maybe it was all starting to get to him, a spiral of thoughts and issues he’d never had to deal with till he’d suddenly found himself tangled into this alphas heart, unsure of how he’d gotten there. Unsure of how to stay, what he needed to do in order to keep his place here. Growing more desperate by the day to have some sort of clarity, to escape an inevitable end. And perhaps it was enough to always give that expected reply. So he had, but he should have known it would catch up to him eventually. He just hadn’t been expecting it to hit him with so much force as to result in this breakdown.{In which Kyojuro’s bottled up insecurities finally overflow, Tanjiro is just doing his best to be a good alpha, and this was all a lot of trouble just to have Tanjiro finally call his omega by his given name.}

Summary
After an event that would go down in Judo club history as 'the closet incident' Tanjiro and Kyojuro have been courting rather blissfully for the past six months. Everyone in the club thinks they're a perfect match, and it's been smooth sailing more or less from the outset. Unfortunately for Tanjiro, an accidental near-run in with his little sister makes Kyojuro realize that the Kamado family is completely unaware of their eldest son's relationship. He's not exactly thrilled and insists Tanjiro come clean about having a courtship, and the family dinner that comes along as a result of that confession is about as chaotic as you'd expect.
Unpacking Kyojuro's self-esteem issues and Tanjiro's nervous ticks along the way seems to be a happy side effect.
{In which Kyojuro denies his feelings, and not the ones towards his alpha, Tanjiro can't even think about 'the closet incident' without blushing up to his ears, and Shinobu is not only the club wingman but also the friendly neighborhood advisory council.}

Summary
Kyojuro has been working and studying hard to keep up during his first year at univeristy. He’s stead-fast and reliable, and always seems to be in a good mood. His co-workers don’t think much of it until a purse-snatcher reveals they actually know very little about their fellow omega. Somehow they keep talking right past each other, and in the end it’s not so much that they figure things out, but that they somehow knew even less than they thought in the first place.
{In which Kyojuro is purposefully oblivious, Mitsuri is desperate for a date, Tokito just wants his shift to end, and Tanjiro just really, really, really wants to visit his omega.}

Summary
Tanjiro hadn’t realized how badly he missed Kyojuro till he was on the train, trundling north to visit his mate who’d graduated and headed to college. Beyond worrying about him overworking himself, which was nothing new, Tanjiro had other things on the brain. Kyojuro was certainly odd, and he kept his emotions reined in tight. It was rare for him to show anything that wasn’t overwhelming positivity, and sometimes Tanjiro worried he might not be looking close enough to see the cracks. Then again, it wasn’t like Kyojuro to be anything less than painfully pragmatic. So the reception of this surprise visit might be a surprise in and of itself, but it wasn’t like moments lost would be enough to break them. More like it gave them a ‘one day’ to look forward too.
