Eddie stretched noisily as his spine cracked. It had been a long day. He had just started working at the tattoo studio a few days ago, and he was already feeling exhausted. He didn't finish work late, but as soon as he got home, he took it on himself to take care of his two children to make Chrissy feel as comfortable as possible. Sam was now 4 months old. He had just finished the dinner dishes, Arwen was drawing on the floor, while Chrissy was putting her hair up in a little bun. He grabbed his son under his arms.
- Ladies, Sam and I are leaving you, it's time to have some boy time at the bath, he warned.

Chrissy would never tell her daughter that despite all these years, she hears a voice in her head counting calories.
She will never tell her daughter that she never was able to ask her own mother for a cake. That she was never allowed to have breakfast. That when she was allowed to eat a piece of cake for her birthday party, she wasn't allowed to eat anything the rest of the day. That she was so hungry afterwards, and when she had tried to steal an extra piece of cake, and her mother had surprised her, she had shoved her fingers down Chrissy's throat herself to make her throw up, trailing her by her hair into the bathroom.
She will never tell her that sometimes she wakes up at night crying, reliving the worst memories of her childhood, but that instead of her mother, she sees herself, fighting with a little girl with curly hair. And that terrifies her. No child deserves that. And especially not Arwen. Not ever. Not her precious little girl.

- Sure, he said distractedly.
Eddie headed for the bathroom, before suffering a ruptured aneurysm. He literally has to hold his jaw to keep it from dropping.
She's wearing a little lavender lace dress, with a bare back, exposing her beautiful, shapely, muscular body.
He still doesn't know which feeling predominates more in the chaos of his mind. On the one hand, he wants to lick every inch of her emerging spine. To bend her over the counter to do it. To give her a third child if she wants it. He wants it so badly that his hands are shaking like a drug addict. Yes, he's addicted to her, and doesn't plan to change drugs for the rest of his life.
And yet, on the other hand, he feels a little like crying. It's true, it's pathetic, but she's the only one who makes it that way. It's a little touching, for her who had no right to be imperfect, to show herself to him in a more vulnerable form, not yet complete. And he feels like a goddamn white knight, helping her on her quest. He's infinitely grateful that she lets him see her like this.First part in English, second part in French.

So that's why he feels himself freezing, when he sees his father, nonchalantly leaning in front of his house, smoking a cigarette.
