Summary
The dichotomy of Mito sealing Kurama into herself and telling Kushina the cure to the beast's hatred was to find love (and it was romantic love in a man). Kushina chains up Kurama and stakes him onto a rock and treats him as nothing more than a mindless angry beast when she takes on the duty. This is a different world.
Mito might have bound herself out of love to Hashirama, she could never fully connect with Kushina.
Kushina is a frightened little twelve year old girl when she asks Kurama if they can be friends, sympathizing with his pain. Locked up for the sake of a duty she never wanted...
She befriends the "monster" against everyone's best wishes for her.

Summary
Kushina learns why no one supported her in becoming the Hokage except for Minato. Who heard of a jinchuriki becoming a Kage? Like how other ninjas copied Leaf's village system, it is a tradition for the major five villages' Kage and the jinchuriki to be related. Kushina learns too late why Jiraiya's student Minato is allowed to be her friend.
It wasn't like Minato knew about it. Kushina tries hard not to cry about what everyone wants to raise her as and Minato comforts her.

Summary
Touka doesn't exist in the Leaf. No one speaks about her. When she left Leaf, no one thought she could abandon it. Her status was written down as an inactive or retired ninja. No one chased after her. Mito said nothing. She leaves Leaf when Mito marries Hashirama and Touka thought she had a chance with her and didn't.
What hurts her the most of all is how Mito could've fallen in love with her.
