To keep Earth from being scorched and born anew, Team Free Will needs to complete an interrupted spell, reset the intentions of said spell, and unfortunately, a figurative virgin symbolic of the Earth needs to be 'fertilized' by the very literal celestial body of an Angel.
Don't worry, though, they've got Angel cuffs, and the Angel cuffs certainly will not fail. 'Cause that'd be nuts.

Summary
Sam, Dean, and Rowena closed up their case in PA last month, and Dean took some time to heal, but he's back on his feet, hunting, and trying to get back into the groove of things, and aggressively ignoring Cas' loud absence.
Also aggressively ignoring how much Rowena and Sam have been texting.
Also, he's been feeling funny.

Summary
Dean thinks Sam and Rowena are really sweet together. They strangely fit together nicely, despite Sam's best efforts to avoid demonic or darkly magickal inclinations, and despite Rowena's most concerted efforts to not be so vulnerable as to be in love.
They complement each other nicely, and they obviously care so much about each other, he wonders why either of them are scared to say anything about it when the reciprocal romantic and sexual tension and chemistry between them is practically taking up space in the bunker.
He has learned nothing about himself through these observations.
