Summary
Those soft, decaying eyes watched me as I stared at it, trying to get the information through my mind. And it wasn’t as if the whole scene had moved on me, no; the smeared guts and blood were no longer there. It almost looked like the body had… followed me down the road, somehow.

Summary
I used to be normal, you know. I used to be just another British 20-something out on holiday on the mainland with her best friend. I was someone who didn’t wake up screaming every night, who didn’t have PTSD, who didn’t have her name slapped all over the Internet to be mocked and derided for being so stupid as to get lost on a guided tour and need a rescue.
That’s why I came here. Maybe you’re all laughing at me already, maybe you’ll all start once I’m gone, but for a few minutes, at least, I can write down what happened– what really happened, and pretend that no one is judging me.

Summary
“Please,” I somehow managed to whisper through dry lips. The Underwater Woman tilted her head, as though curious, and a strand of her hair brushed against my cheek as it floated around her head, long and dark and wet. Then she smiled, and the rows of thin, piercing, needle-like teeth tucked inside her jaw made me shudder from head to paralyzed toe.

Summary
I’ve felt the call of several different things. Run into people that serve them. The fire is one. The wolves are another. But the excruciating dragging out of the chase never appealed to me, nor did the empty silence of ashes after an inferno had passed. No, I found my home in that anger, that special kind of anger that comes with an adrenaline rush, warms your blood in your veins, that drives you forward, forward, forward, until you tear into the source of the rage and rip it to pieces.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. I’d always been angry, but I didn’t always know what it felt like to give in to the rush of it. Not until the day the preacher stopped me on the street.Series

Summary
Still standing on my toes, I turned my head to call out to one of the others on the boat, taking my eyes off of the water just for a split second. In that split second I heard something break the surface of the water. Before I could look back something wrapped around my left wrist. Something that felt distinctly like a hand.

Summary
A week ago I wouldn’t have ever walked into this building. This place is a bastion of the Devil, devoting so much time and money to investigating things that could only be illusions and machinations of Satan. No one who claims to follow the Lord would be caught dead walking through those front doors.
But that was a week ago. That was when I knew the Lord watched over me, and my faith was a shield that could protect me from any of Satan’s demons. Before her, the woman who would send any of Beezlebub’s greatest generals fleeing in terror, and against whom my shield was made of papermache.

Summary
I’m not ashamed to admit that I was afraid. Of course I was afraid-- how couldn’t I be? Just looking at those statues had filled my stomach with butterflies and made my knees weak. But there was also something holding me there. In that cavernous room, in the pressure squeezing my lungs flat. Something that felt like home.
That scared me more than anything else.

Summary
The dead leaves before him were the same, but if he wasn’t mistaken (if it wasn’t a trick played on him by his desperate mind) they seemed less gray than they had been before. Maybe the slightest bit of brown on the edges. And the light, could it have really changed to golden without him noticing?
Slowly, almost not daring to hope, Dmitri raised his eyes to the sky.
He wept openly when he saw blue.Series
