Summary
A lone holy woman walks a desolate plain. Spawns of insects and women fill the sky like a writhing cloud. The end has arrived. Her journey is one that takes her to one of the last cities that still stands against the swarm. The nests of the creatures that feasted on the women's brains had grown plentiful, and the city fortress could either prove to be a last refuge, or a perfect hole for the beasts to further breed.
When she finally finished her pilgrimage, she finds the city desolate, little left than corpses. However, amongst the ruin is one last, lost, frightened girl. A last brain the swarm had overlooked.

Summary
Lenore knew the forests of Thaemoore well. She had hunted in them with her father for years. It was because of this that she had grown complacent. After all, why should she expect that there just might be something in the dark, waiting to suck out her brain?
While trying to escape the troubles of the world with her friend, Tessa, by traveling to her parents' old cabin, deep in the woods, she would quickly learn that something alien, something hungry, had now taken residents in her beloved forests.
What had at first seemed like the start of a romantic holiday soon would devolve into horror. They needed her womb, but her brain did not need to be in her skull to serve her purpose.

Summary
Malia, up until a few hours ago, had been a tiefling girl with little true excitement in her life. She and her mother and sister had lived in a village that was unnoteworthy, just another little town that adventuring parties occasionally stopped in to rest in as they headed towards more important places.
That did not stop the buzzing hoards from swarming her home though.
The lucky ones simply had the insects suck out their brains. The unlucky ones were carried away, doomed to birth the next generation of horrors. How long could someone like her last, or was she doomed when she heard the first rustle of wings?

Summary
Thaemoore was in a state of turmoil. Though labeled as 'peace,' everyone knew this was far from the case. The populations of villages disappeared, those wandering outside city walls were never heard from again, and traveling parties of adventurers reported a strange buzzing on the wind.
These things plagued Dina's mind. An aasimar nun in a mountain convent, she was used to a quiet life.
Soon, however, the things that crawled out of the dark holes in the world would find her haven, and it would be a fight to ensure her brain remained in her skull, and not in the stomach of one of the horrific creatures at the cathedral doors, and that neither her or any of her sisters were dragged off to the nests to birth their next generation. As more and more fell prey, however, became clear that it was not a question if they would be able to survive until morning, but how many would be left, if any at all.

Summary
Clio and her companions, Eileen and Fleur, are members of the adventurer's guild. This meant spending every day, risking their lives as they completed quests in hopes of earning enough gold to make a living. A bit of relaxation was exactly what the three women needed, and Talburh's harvest festival was exactly what they needed, and it was a pilgrimage they made each year.
When they arrived this year, however, all that was to be found were bodies lining the streets, each with their brain mysteriously having been sucked from their skull.
As their solemn duty as adventurers, they begin a search for survivors. Little do they know that they were the next on the menu. It will take all their skill and prowess to not end up as piles of gore, though, just maybe, that was a more merciful fate than the alternative.
