Summary
I was comfortable, just lying around and acting like I owned his bed. I could hear the light sounds of the carpet getting pressed in by footsteps, squeaking softly with every step, only to stop when the bed creaked. Summary
Sparrow lifted her gaze toward the muddy sky. The hues above blended into a rich mixture of deep brown with subtle red undertones, reminiscent of cinnamon, or even chocolate. Despite its odd color and the humidity, there was a comforting quality to it. Floating lanterns adorned the sky, accompanied by a warm breeze carrying scents of ash and freshly laid cement.
Leaning against the railing fence of the bridge, she fixed her gaze on the serene stream below and the cobblestone bridge. Inhaling the last drag of her cigarette, she heard a woman’s voice, followed up by the sound of the package being slammed on the railing beside her, "Get your shit together, Alabaster; we’ve got work.”
