Summary
In the batcave where Bruce, Dick, Steph, Barbara and even Tim had all been standing, Damian had said, "I'm stepping away from being Robin. Temporarily."
That single word had been tagged on at the end. Sending a cautious look around as if worried that someone else would use this opportunity to jump forward and claim the mantle from him. When nobody said a word, Damian seemed to settle. Only minutely though, his shoulders were still tense, and his face was set. It was clear that this is not some half-baked idea, this was something Damian had been mulling over for a while now.

After announcing that he wanted to pass as a civilian to go on a personal journey of growth and development. Damian once again puts on his Robin uniform to go out onto the field to triage and treat a wounded, and slightly delirious Red Hood. An opportunity to share a softer moment between the two of them.

Summary
"Alone? You know you can talk to me about anything, right?"
Jon's words were earnest, and Damian didn't scoff at them. He sighed though, because Jon was right. Despite making a myriad of changes in his life, he still struggled with this. Having prioritized his friends and family, Damian was still getting used to that being a two-way street. Given Damian would do anything for the people he loved and cared about, he had to come to terms with the people around him feeling the same way about him as well.

Worried about his best friend, Jon flies to where Damian is to go speak with him. When he arrives at Damian's island, he learns a number of things he hadn't expected to and discovers there's even more to Damian that he hadn't known about. With the help of Maya Ducard, they all get a little closer.

Summary
"Thank you, for taking this so seriously."
Feeling her eyes drooping, Carrie gets herself up off the floor and pulls Damian up after herself. Though both of them came together to create this idea. Both of them feel grateful that the other took their thoughts seriously. It was only through the combination of their efforts, that they had anything to start with. This wouldn't be perfect, but it would highlights all their hopes and dreams.
"Let's head home. I know you were making plans with Lian earlier, don't leave her waiting. You have kids to help out!"

Damian and Carrie have an idea. They want to create a youth centre for kids to come to, keeping them off the street and allowing them to participate in the arts. While setting it up, Damian uses it as an opportunity to rope his cousin in and to introduce her to some people who'll help her break out of her shell.

"Feels like I could've done more. How could I not have done something more to save her life?"
"There will be a time in the future where you'll be able to save a life. Stopping now isn't the right option. You're not going through this alone. Any one of us can be a shoulder to lean on, whenever you feel exhausted and pulled down by it all." Steph knocked her foot against Damian's. "Think about her as a person. Someone who lived a life, not just experienced death. Let her inspire you if anything."
"I think she would've liked you." Damian said softly, a single tear slipping from his eye.

Conversations around the topic of grief as Damian starts out working in hospitals and places where patients are being taken care of. Damian's grief, pain and loss is listened to and acknowledged by Alfred and Steph. They offer him their thoughts and just hope he'll go easy on himself.
