Summary
All of a sudden, Tommy feels heavy. The axe he had raised over his head falls into the rivers stones with a crash, and he stumbles a little, barely able to keep himself standing. Dream's wide verdant eyes blink at Tommy from across the water and he feels like his armor is suddenly made of full blocks of iron, taking another step forward becoming an insurmountable task.
"Fuck-" Dream gasps, panting as he stares at Tommy, shaking a little from the adrenaline, "Okay, yeah just- stay there."
Or: Tommy gets a shower.

Summary
Dream doesn't recognize the room he's in when he wakes up.
The nightmare that kicked Dream awake is already fading away while he scours the edges of the pitch dark room, but the terror stays rooted in his chest, his ears pricked up for the noise of redstone that announces a visitor to the prison, even tho he can't see lava. (Have his eyes failed him? Sir had threatened to rip them out, has he done it in his sleep? Has Dream been drugged again?-)
All that he finds is the muffled howling of the wind outside, and his own desperate panting.
or: Dream wakes up from a nightmare in the middle of the night, Tommy's instincts are convinced they know exactly how to make him feel and sleep better.
Or or: Dream, almost frozen in terror from the trauma of a year of being tortured and abused:

Summary
Technically, they were only supposed to become their mechs when they were inside them. No mechanic or engineer or handler would ever say their pilots were bluetooth connecting their minds to their mechs. But too much time on them made the mech a second body, so it wasn't uncommon for pilots to go to sleep in their quarters and connect with their mechs from far away, drifting between sleep and awareness in their metal bodies. Thats how Tommy went to sleep on a normal Thursday night and woke up with Dream inside him.

Summary
Months after his prison escape Dream finds himself taking refuge in Tommy's house to escape notice by some hunters, but when he finds the other in pain and vulnerable Dream needs to abide to the deal they made ages past.
