"Do you always talk this much when you're trying to kiss someone senseless?" Jake asked, his lips brushing Heeseung's with each word—half complaint, half surrender—as Heeseung's thumbs traced the hollow beneath his cheekbones. The question dissolved into a gasp when Heeseung bit down lightly on his lower lip, tugging just enough to make Jake's fingers spasm against his chest.
"I can shut up," Heeseung gasped, pulling back just far enough that Jake could see the frantic dilation of his pupils, black swallowing honey-brown in the flickering string lights. His hands still trembled where they framed Jake's face, thumbs brushing the high points of his cheekbones with reverent pressure. "But I really want to make sure you know—" His breath hitched when Jake's fingers curled tighter in his sweater, dragging him down until their noses bumped. "Every fucking coffee, every stupid door held open—it was never just being nice."
"I was so down bad for you, and I never thought this could happen. I was willing to play dumb about literally everything, just so I could stay close to you," Heeseung bared his heart.
