Summary
(Posting it early for Darius’s birthday tomorrow.)
Jaron rises before dawn with a plan, determined to give his brother Darius a birthday unlike any he has ever known.
Before he could speak more, I crossed the room and took his hands in both of mine. They were warm, steady, familiar in a way that went deeper than memory. I squeezed them, then pulled him forward and wrapped my arms around him in a sudden embrace.
“Happy birthday Darius,” I said into his shoulder. I realized how long it had been since I’d done this without thinking twice.
He stiffened in surprise, then relaxed, returning the embrace after a heartbeat. “It’s been a long time since we celebrated it together,” he said quietly.

Summary
Roden’s Birthday fic.
I remained behind in the throne room, seated at the long table pretending to read a report I had already memorised. Across from me, Harlowe stayed seated, his gaze lingering somewhere beyond the high windows, where the light fell pale and winter-thin across the stone.
After a moment, he murmured, almost to himself, “The day is near.”
I glanced up. “What day?”
He smiled faintly, the sort of smile that carried memory rather than mirth. “Roden’s birthday. It’s next week.”
I stared at him. “Roden's birthday?” The words surprised me as much as the thought. “Roden never told me.”

Finally, I asked. “Well? What did you wish to speak with me?”
She smiled shyly. “It is about Tobias. His birthday is coming soon.”
Amarinda spoke again. “I want to surprise him. I want him to celebrate his birthday properly this year.”
“Then you should go on ahead,” I replied. “He would like it.”
She slowed her steps and turned to face me fully. “That is why I need your help.”
I stopped walking. “My help?” I studied her though I already suspected what she meant. “Why would you need my help?”
Rather than answer she stared at me and raised her brow slightly, as if that alone should explain everything. After a moment I sighed, already knowing her message. “Of course. You want me to plan it.”

Mott sat to my right from where he observed the scene around us.
Finally, he looked at me and furrowed his brows. “I found the letter you wrote me and a gift in my room this morning. Why are we having a picnic today, Jaron?”
I grinned. “Can't you tell?”
He studied me for a moment, then slowly said. “I certainly can.”

Summary
It is Nila's birthday. Roden and Jaron spend a whole day with her in the city.
I smiled at her. “It is. This street is older than the castle itself. I used to come here long before anyone thought I should not.”
Nila giggled at that. “Did you get into trouble here?”
“Frequently,” I replied. “That is how you know it was worth visiting.”
Roden groaned beside me. “Why am I not surprised?”
Nila laughed again and tugged gently at my hand. “Show me your favorite place.”

Summary
Jaron doesn't like celebrating his birthdays and usually gets sad near it as he still misses his parents but his friends plan to make him smile and give a birthday surprise.
Tobias folded his arms at once. “Why did you drag us all here, Roden? Jaron is in the middle of a discussion with Kerwyn and Harlowe. If he finds out we are talking about him without him, you know how angry he will get.”
“I know. But it's about the way he’s acting lately,” Roden said.
Fink nodded in agreement. “Yes! He’s not himself these days. Even when he jokes, it doesn’t feel real. And even when he smiles it's not real either.”
Amarinda folded her hands. “He hasn't looked happy lately.”
“It must be his birthday. It is only four days away,” Tobias spoke in a gentle and low voice. “And his parents’ death anniversary passed two weeks ago.”
Roden glanced over at him. “Then we should do something for him. He needs to smile.”
