Summary
Sometimes even the simplest of tasks can't be done without a misadventure or two. Scully has to learn this lesson the hard way. Unless it's just the creative way in disguise. And tonight is most certainly one of those times. However, the last thing Scully feels is curious. Or even amused. The real question is, "How do I even get to the finish line in one piece?!"

Teenage Margaret ‘Maggie’ Katherine de Graff is enjoying life in rural upstate New York. Things are as well as they can be for small-life. But at heart, she has always wanted more. Sometimes she even dreams about it. Enter teenage William ‘Liam’ Jakub Scully. Fresh off the train from basic training for the Navy elsewhere, he has come to town ahead of his family back home because of business that needs handling. Quite by chance (or universal design), Liam goes to get lunch at the town diner. He even locks eyes with Maggie. And the rest is history.

Miramar Naval Air Station, California. Mid-October 1976.
Dana Katherine Scully is incredibly unimpressed about her family’s move. Living abroad was more fun. (Mostly because she has no memory of living in America, anyway.) But life as the child of a Navy captain means things like short-term reassignment… sometimes on the opposite side of the globe from where you grew up. So here they are. And until springtime. Life is just unfair when you’re twelve.
Today in particular has Dana sulking more than usual. Her sister notices. And carries out a particularly clever plan to cheer her up.

Halloween. England. 1974. Dana Katherine Scully loves her life. Being ten and seeing the world because of her dad’s Navy postings is the best, in her opinion. (Especially because England is the second country she’s lived in. Visited countries are another story.) Dana even gets along wonderfully with all her siblings. William ‘Bill’ or ‘Billy’ Junior, Melissa ‘Missy,’ and Charles ‘Charlie’ Scully. They in turn adore Dana. So it isn’t any surprise to their parents when all four of their children choose to make their own Halloween fun this year. Dana is just happy to be in the moment. She can’t recall a better Halloween. But… Just because you’d like for something to happen splendidly, that still doesn’t mean there won't be some kind of detour. In one fashion. Or another.

Summary
Because the events of the Eurisko case turned out to be... well more than a lot by the end, life demands of Mulder and Scully a general reset. Even if only for a night. The day in question: Halloween. Perfect. Things begin when Mulder accepts an invitation from Scully to hang out with her at her apartment on the day-of. It certainly beats being alone. Scully is just pleased to share one of her favorite times of year with him. But what neither of them expect? An evening of strengthening the bond they've already been building in these early days as they get to know each other.

Summary
After the events at J.A.S.D. Beef in the peculiar little town of Delta Glen, Wisconsin, Scully is more than happy to leave. And not come back. Even Mulder feels the same way. Both partners also have a mutual joint belief: neither has any desire to eat anything in it with beef in it again for a good long while.
But then reality kicks in through the fashion of terrible flight-grounding weather.
And remembering what the date is.

Summary
Mulder and Scully find themselves on the road for work at a time of year when most people would rather be traveling to see family for the holidays. But this one is on Mulder. 'Sneaky maneuvering' is what one gets when Mulder connects the dots about an upcoming seminar he would like to avoid. Scully comes along because she doesn't have a choice. All the same time, she doesn't mind. A west coast Christmas isn't something either of them have ever had before. They especially have time to slow down because the flight they need to get home won't even happen until Boxing Day. Now they have an extra day there in California at a nicer all-expenses-paid roadside motel. Still... What happens when one factors a cascading downpour into the picture?

After the completion of a local(ish) but very domestic-oriented case that saw them going undercover as parents-to-be, Mulder and Scully are thrown back in reality. They also learn some very important facts. Immediately. There hasn’t been time (yet) for Scully to remove her prosthetic bump disguise… and they are somewhat stranded at the closest Lariat Rent-A-Car establishment. In public. So both partners are forced to maintain their disguise for just a little bit longer. Although… This does allow Mulder and Scully some time to reflect on their lives as they are. Not that either minds.

Summary
Sometimes life in the FBI means undercover work. Even twice in one month. But sometimes... It also means getting spend time with your best friend in sunny southern California instead of being stuck at home in the dreadfully-snowy D.C. metropolitan area. Which is always good. On *any* day.
These are the thoughts that Scully concern Scully concerns herself with as she and Mulder settle into their lives as the Petries. But there are also other thoughts that are circulating through her mind... going all the way back to heir impromptu Valentine 'date' at the Virginian Lariat Rent-A-Car center ten days ago. Including the family shaped plans they made for their later years.
But *all* of these thoughts have even made Scully completely forget why the later part of February is important in her life to begin with. Being brainy isn't everything it's cracked up to be. Not always. Luckily, Mulder has remembered the reason, just fine. And now? He's determined to remind his best friend. Even though things are overdue. Slightly.
