Summary
If there was one thing Miya Atsumu was not, it was nice. People knew him, people maybe even respected him. Above all else, people tolerated him. Atsumu knew this, used this. It was how he navigated life - bickering, teasing, charming, annoying one person at a time. It didn’t build strong friendships, but so long as everyone knew his name, that was good enough. Which is why, when Sakusa Kiyoomi first walked onto the practice court and quietly, emotionlessly, introduced himself, Atsumu felt his entire sense of self slip away.

Summary
It was a well-established fact of life to anyone who had met Sakusa Kiyoomi that he was a particular kind of man. He said what he meant, and held his tongue when his words would be wasted. He had the most meticulously ordered locker anyone from MSBY had ever seen. And, of course, cleanliness and hygiene were of the highest priority. Everything had a specific place in Kiyoomi’s well-structured life, and life for Sakusa Kiyoomi seemed to the outside observer to be one who put distinct parts of his life into distinct boxes: a box for family, a box for volleyball, a box for acquaintances or friends, a box for education, a box for romantic relationships…
Well, Miya Atsumu had screwed that all to hell.

Summary
One win, two losses. A stain of red wine on the rug of the entryway. There: a frustrated tug of Atsumu’s frown. There: the pile of unread mail in the entry. There: an untouched meal, an empty glass. There: the visual equivalent of the static of Kiyoomi’s mind, exposed but uninterpreted.
A year passes. Everything does, eventually.
