“Didn’t know. Didn’t know!” Neil’s voice sounded exasperated, as if he should have been in bed by that time. He rubbed his forehead before asking. “Did you two eat any?”
“A few,” Knox replied. “Nothing. The weakest edibles I’ve ever had.”
Or: Todd Anderson eats a cookie, and now he's high. Neil has to deal with the consequences.

Todd’s body jerked up. Yeah, he wasn’t dreaming. He turned his gaze to Neil, who seemed to have also heard the noise. Neil laid there, eyes suddenly wide.
“What the hell was that?” he asked.
Todd grabbed his hand. “I don’t know,” he replied.
Or: Neil and Todd wake up hearing the boys having a snowball fights outside and decide to join them.
