Summary
How to harvest the most agony? How best to twist the knife?
While immediately swapping all of them would be shocking and difficult for both sides, it wouldn’t bring the Specter the maximum yield. To swap those once connected would increase the amount of suffering, but it still wouldn’t be perfect. There was only one solution: make it random.
Force both sides into a paranoid spiral of wondering who was next, of when they would be tossed into a role they would hate, of what would become of the life they had slowly carved out.
Make the recently-turned Killers spend time with the people they’ve been slaughtering, only to see those same people take up the mantle of murderer. Allow those separated by roles reconnect, only to rip them apart again. Yes, this would do the trick.

The rounds have begun to grow dull, Killers and Survivors alike settling into their roles. The Specter seeks to change that.

“What is she?”
“Huh?” Chance paused briefly to look at them, quickly going back to work after. Their hands were firm, but kind.
“Lady Luck. You keep invoking her. Is she a person? A deity?”
“You wanna have this conversation now?” They have the feeling that Chance has cocked an eyebrow behind their sunglasses.
“Just-” A groan of pain slips through their clenched teeth. “Just humor me.”

Summary
An idea stuck them like a bolt of lighting. It might be dumb and impulsive, but it could be their only way out. “Two Time. We’re going to have to use our most forbidden tactic yet.”
Two Time’s eyes widened. “You don’t mean..?”
Chance nodded, dead serious. “I do.”
There was a line between them that was about to be crossed, one that they could never go back on.

Summary
“Y’see, me and Dusekkar have been working on a little project…” Chance went off on a lengthy tangent about quality of life and how feeling good makes you good at surviving, chattering animatedly as Two Time’s mind slipped away. Chance was liked by all but known by none, always showing up with a game and a smile but slinking away with an excuse if anyone asked him if he was alright. Why had he started confiding in them?
“So… you in?”
“I see no reason as to why I should not. The Spawn had always approved of helping others, and our allies will be pleased to see a break in the routine.”
“Now we’re talking!” Chance’s grin stretched bigger, playfully slinging an arm around Two Time’s neck. “Watch out, ocean! You’ve got a pair of lean, mean, oyster machines on the loose!”

Summary
“Hey, Slasher!” Like an angel sent down from the heavens, Guest 1337’s voice echoed around the castle walls. Matt groggily looked up to see him standing on one of the parapets, just as strong and determined as ever.
“Guest…” Matt slurred, feebly reaching an arm up for him. It was all worth it. He’d take an agonizing death if it meant getting to see Guest 1337 one last time.
His senses remained intact otherwise, giving Matt a front-row seat to Guest 1337 as he began to do what could only be described as absolutely busting it down to California Girls.
What.

Summary
Guest 1337! There’s a new killer! His name is Noli and- For just a moment, their fluid signing faltered with a nervous twitch of the hands. -he can make illusions.
“That’s what all of this was?” Taph nodded. Relief hit Guest 1337 immediately, sighing slightly. He and Taph were still in danger, but Charlotte and Daisy were safe. They were alive. “Alright. Is it just us?”
Another nod, this one more somber. It was down to them. A soldier and a Demolitionist, stuck together in hell, bound by their shared goal: keep everyone safe. We have around a minute.

The night passes swiftly as she writes down line after line of information. She knows she can’t check the site of the disappearance itself; any code that might’ve revealed itself to her would have been long gone by now, washed over by updates and time. Summary
Sometimes she wishes she was there with him, if only to make Elliot stop treating her with the polite pleasantness you show a coworker when they ask you how your day was. He had been there when she was born. He had taught her how to tie her shoes and sat through countless tea parties and got in arguments about who’s turn it was to do the dishes and now he looked at her as if she was a mirage on the horizon, gone the moment he got too close. She wanted to pity him fully or to hate him completely, anything to stop the tangle of emotions lodged in her heart, because there were good days too.
