Summary
Lance was reclined on a high couch, his long legs encased in dark brown leather pants, his stained off-white shirt missing its first two buttons, revealing tantalizing glimpses of caramel skin and collarbone.
Now Keith was the one getting distracted … But he refocused on the game, on his nearly winning hand. He reminded himself that, unlike the poor gullible bastards at this table, Keith would be walking out of here with some extra gems, and taking that charming cowboy home to his bed.
For six months, Keith and Lance have been stranded on a world that has no law and order except the law of the gun. They've survived by becoming a pair of notorious mercenary-cowboys-for-hire, loyal only to each other.

“We’re not robbing the bank of the biggest crime lord here, Lance. Do you have a death wish?!”
“Let’s just do our damn best to not die. I am too gorgeous to expire this early, dude — I haven’t even hit my prime yet.”
Six weeks after crashing landing on this miserable world, the Red and Blue Paladins are on the verge of losing everything. This is how Lance and Keith turned it all around and earned their badass reputation as The Two McClains: Mercenaries Who Get The Job Done.

Summary
Lance smirked while sitting there completely naked. “Happy birthday, Keith, and welcome to your twenties. Your present is me, all day nude, all day free access. Come at me, bro.”
“Do not use the word ‘bro’ in this context,” Keith said primly, even as his eyes were feasting on every inch of the lush light brown skin before him.
Eight months into being marooned on a planet populated by criminals, and it’s Keith’s birthday — which Keith isn’t particularly excited about. But Lance has a plan, and unlike some of his other plots, it actually goes off without a hitch. And also, without clothes.

Summary
These spies were fast — the Red and Blue Paladins were surrounded before they had raised their weapons, and when Keith shifted his weight, trying to quickly decide if it was worth the risk, he was immediately set upon by two Galra, one of which pinned him to the ground while the other raised up a heavy gun, bringing it down onto his head.
The last thing he heard was Lance frantically shouting his name.
They were taken so quickly that Lance and Keith couldn’t even put up a real fight. They succeed in defeating their Galra captors, but their victory comes at the cost of crashing onto a planet populated by violent, remorseless criminals.
Or, the wretched beginning of Lance and Keith, Space Cowboy Mercenaries.

Summary
“Not this time,” Lance snapped, harsh and determined. “She’s not going to screw us over on a whim. We’re going to break into that damn vault and she’s gonna pay us for every job we couldn’t get because of her stupid game. And then we’re going to get off this damn planet. Maybe we’ll go to Jacomir and give them some of their own back.” Lance’s blue eyes gleamed with danger.
Keith hadn’t realized he’d tensed up in the face of that low, threatening voice, the uncompromising violence in it, until he felt his muscles loosening at its retreat. It happened now and again that it was Lance who needed to be pulled back from the brink. But he was quick to smile, to shrink down and laugh off their apprehension.
Keith tried not to worry, and he actually succeeded most of the time — as long as Lance kept coming back …
It's been ten and a half months on the nameless planet of cowboys and crooks. Lance and Keith are back in a tight spot, low on funds. But now they know how to play this — they’re going to perform one of their most epic heists yet, and they will finally have the money needed to leave this place once and for all.

Summary
“You have to promise — we have to swear that no matter how much we argue or disagree, we are never going to abandon each other.”
“I’m sort of insulted that you need a solemn oath from me over something that I figured was obvious,” Lance murmured lightly, but his eyes were dark and staid. “I couldn’t leave you behind even if you begged me to — you’re stuck with me, Keith.”
Keith’s hand finally bridged that infinitesimal gap. The Blue Paladin intertwined their fingers, squeezing just this side of painfully tight. Keith returned the favour, his heart beating a steady yearning throughout his body.
“Good,” Keith whispered, his face so close to Lance’s that he could easily count each of those long eyelashes. “Wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Two weeks into their marooning on this too-damn-dangerous-planet, Lance shoots someone in cold blood. Keith sees that they are both losing pieces of themselves, with nothing but darkness to fill in the broken gaps.

Summary
Pidge noted the two missing fingers, and watched as a pair of silver eyes widened.
“You’re … you’re like Lance. And Keith.”
Hunk let out a sound, desperate and high-pitched. Pidge staggered forward but reined herself in as the woman pointed a shotgun her way.
“We’re here to take them home.”
Shiro spoke so calmly, the kind of calm Pidge was sure none of them felt.
Lance and Keith have been gone for eleven months, one week and three hours. Team Voltron is landing on a planet with no name, and they’re looking for their Red and Blue Paladins. But who they find instead are The Two McClains, a pair of scarred, ruthless cowboy mercenaries.Series

Summary
Keith picked up the gem bag and stared blankly at his hand — the little satchel was heavy.
“How much did you make tonight?” he asked incredulously.
“Um, probably the same as you?”
“I made five gems, Lance, it was just a two-hour guard job. This feels like twenty-five? Thirty?”
Lance shrugged, not meeting Keith’s gaze as he put his clothes away a little too carefully. He muttered a number, apparently hoping Keith had suddenly developed hearing loss but no, he heard it loud and clear.
“You made forty gems in one night?!”
Over seven months as mercenaries, and money is getting tight again for Lance and Keith. They’re picking up a few odd jobs to stay afloat, but Lance is pulling in way more money than Keith … And Keith is worrying over exactly how he’s doing it.
Or, as Lance likes to sum it up: That Time My Fiancé Thought I Was Stripping For Cash.

Summary
It was Keith, mostly, who couldn’t handle the Castle for these endless days in space, but Lance had woken up a few times on his own, desperate for air, for space that wasn’t infinite blackness or the inside of metal walls. On Lance's few bad nights, Keith would trail after him to the pool, and they would float together in the water with their eyes shut.
Lance and Keith have been back on the Castle for three weeks, and yet they don’t feel like they’ve come home.
The rest of Team Voltron is somehow still missing Lance and Keith. These space cowboy mercenaries don’t quite fit in Paladin armour. They haven’t reached out to their Lions. They fight with a callous brutality.
On the darkest days, Pidge wonders if they even wanted to be saved.

Summary
The doctor had peeled back the blankets and bandages; the burns looked no better than the first day, and the gut wound, stitched up as it had been, burned bright red and swollen. Those were the only spots of colour on Keith—aside from the flush of fever, contrasting against the unnaturally grey paleness of his sweaty skin.
He looked inches from death of a slow, burning kind.
The slower, the better. For all that it meant more suffering for Keith, that suffering would buy Lance time to fix this.
Keith is injured, unconscious, and there’s a chance he won’t make it … More than a chance. They’ve managed to stay alive on this godforsaken prison planet for nearly eleven months, and suddenly, Lance doesn’t have his partner to rely on.
Without hesitation, without restraint, Lance will fight with everything he has to keep Keith with him. And he’ll do anything to make sure that Keith survives … Anything.
