Summary
Everyone at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center knows Dana Evans.
They know the charge nurse who has spent more than three decades keeping the Pitt running. They know Dr. Victoria Blackwood too: senior attending, trauma surgeon, Vice Chair, and one of the few people in the emergency department capable of making chaos behave.
What they don't know is that Blackwood and Evans have been together for eighteen years.
Married for fifteen.
At home, they aren't Nurse Evans and Dr. Blackwood. They're Dana and Victoria Blackwood-Evans, wives, mothers, and the exhausted parents of fifteen-year-old Skylar and five-year-old Hazel.
For fifteen years, they've kept their marriage firmly outside the hospital doors.
Then September 5, 2025 begins.
And during one fifteen-hour shift at the Pitt, the line between their professional lives and the family waiting beyond those doors starts becoming much harder to keep intact.
