No one cares, how could he ever believe that someone would care for him.
His thoughts run wild as he walks the corridors. He does not deserve the comfort of not being hunted, so he is. If he stays in this castle that once may have cared for him, he is hunted. If he leaves to save himself, he is hunted. If he dies at the hand of his tormentor, he will be hunted in his endless dreams.
Because he does not deserve the peace of mind needed to rest comfortably. He does not deserve to even believe that he is the slightest bit safe. Yet he wishes so desperately that he could live in blissful ignorance of the fact that he deserves nothing but to suffer.
