Summary
"Think about it though." Hiori repeats what he had just said now that Rin is actually paying attention, he sounds almost in awe of his own words. His hand is still running through Rin's hair leaving a trail of pleasant tingles down his scalp and he has to force himself to focus on his boyfriend's words this time around.
"Think about all the things that had to line up for us to be together today. We had to be born in the same year, go to the same high school and university, join the same soccer team, and then somehow manage to get ya to tolerate me."
"The last part was the hardest of all." Rin grumbles just because he can, and because Hiori always responds with that easy giggle and an eye roll that almost sends Rin's heart into cardiac arrest.
Or: Hiori and Rin's night in of relaxing; they have no idea how quickly things will end.

Summary
"So for our final few sessions we'll be talking about Hiori." Rin blinks a few times hearing someone else say his name after so long.
They try not to mention Hiori around him.
They always dance around the topic like it's taboo. She gives him looks when he mentions still seeing blue hair in his peripherals and hearing his giggle in quiet rooms.
He knows enough not to mention to her that he still sees him in his head every day. That they talk, and laugh, and kiss like everything's okay; like they aren't kilometers apart breathing through tubes in a hospital room wasting away. Rin tries not to think about it all too much because punching padded walls feels meaningless and irritating.
Or: After Hiori's death Rin ends up in a mental hospital, finally Anri, his therapist, decides it's almost time to let him go after one final session. It does go well.
