Summary
Hajime has never quite known what to make of Nagito Komaeda. Trusting others blindly was stupid, and he was hesitant by nature, but throughout his first days at Jabberwock Island, he had been grateful to have someone as reliable and calm as Nagito by his side. He enjoyed walking by his side, exchanging comments about all the other Ultimates in small whispers and chuckles without having to worry about sounding stupid, and feeling like he wasn't alone in such a terrifying reality such as this one, stripped of his memories.
They investigated the first murder together, and by the time the trial arrived and the events unfolded, Hajime felt betrayed by the one he had trusted. That image of a chill, easygoing, kind guy shattered into fear and doubt that poisoned his every thought. He was sick to his stomach, which twisted 180 degrees as soon as Nagito's real nature was revealed, mostly because he refused to believe it was a lie. Now, was it? There was no way, right?
Indeed, Hajime had never quite known what to make of Nagito Komaeda, but he realised that the distance between them was impossible to maintain the moment he took him in, when his classmates threatened to tie him up again.

Summary
After the NWP ends, the survivors wake to a world where medical examinations are an ordinary part of rebuilding their lives. For Nagito Komaeda, there is even more to examine: his illnesses have mysteriously regressed and the limb attached to his left wrist has somehow survived without succumbing to necrosis or infection.
Hajime has taken on the responsibility of overseeing their contact with the Future Foundation and monitoring everyone's recovery, but adjusting to life outside the simulation means accepting that neither he nor Izuru had to disappear for the other to exist. Surely, being talented was as much a blessing as it was a curse, but it would get better whenever two souls could integrate into one. But he wasn't the only one who was showing some resistance. Izuru knew his whole existence had been prefabricated, so only Hajime Hinata would live. It wasn't as if he cared, but he did, because not even his name was truly his, and nobody was there to remember cherished memories when he had made sure to have them erased before the Neo World Program began. Sometimes, when he looks at Nagito's left hand, he regrets that choice.
So he will convince Komaeda.

Nagito's confession had been living rent-free in Hajime's head ever since he heard it back at the Funhouse on the fourth island. Although it had initially caught him off guard, he eventually found himself thinking of nothing else but his white-haired classmate, especially when his attitude towards him changed out of the blue.Just when he believed it couldn't get any more confusing, Komaeda announced that he had hidden some bombs around Jabberwock Island and there was only that much time for the Ultimates to work together to find and deactivate them, unless the traitor came forth. Unable to tell where Nagito's lies begin and end, Hajime decides to confront him.
“Days ago, I'd have claimed that having Hinata-kun over was the most wonderful showcase of luck my talent could've granted me. Now, it makes me want to vomit.”

Izuru Kamukura blinked slowly as he turned to meet the defaced complexion of the person who had just walked up to him. Childish drawings crawled across his semblance as the Servant raised his right hand to scrape at the pigment, but it seemed too stubborn to leave his skin. The long-haired boy retrieved the fine-tipped pen from Nagito's hand and worked on rewriting a specific spot below his right eye, right by his nose, where the word 'idiot' lay.
“How beautiful to be rewritten by you, Kamukura-kun.” Suddenly, those marks suited him perfectly. Perhaps he should consider scarring them into his skin for eternity. “If only the Ultimate Hope could erase all of me and write me anew in his image, I think I would have spent all of my luck.”
A breathless laugh escaped Nagito as his whole body trembled in anticipation upon being granted a chance. He lowered his hands, hugging himself. “Then please, do not hold back on my account.” His voice cracked. “Kamukura-kun may test me until my bones ache and my luck runs dry.”

Summary
To get the World Destroyer Artificial Intelligence running, Hajime had decided to launch his own conscience into the simulation. With some luck, he would be able to connect with Nagito's unconsciousness and begin to stimulate it to come back to the real world.
He hadn't expected to find two of him.
“Hm? Why? I know how you feel. We’re the same, after all. Back then, if I had had the chance to cling to someone in the middle of despair, I'd have done the same. It’s just a pity that you still fail to understand what was handed to you. Why would our luck favour you over me? I want the Absolute Hope to do me too, after all. Hahaha!” He broke into a hysterical laugh, drawing his mitten-covered hand to his head.
Hajime felt the world tilt violently as the system's warnings echoed around him. “You…” His voice died in his throat as he tried to imagine the face Nagito must have been making behind him.
The Servant's grip on his neck tightened. “How come he didn’t know?” He looked at his other self. “You found out about everyone’s identity as Remnants, didn’t you? So why not his? Haha, how worthless it must have made you feel!”

Summary
“Wow, I'm so happy!” Komaeda offered an enthusiastic smile. “As you can see, I can't exactly greet you with my full hospitality... But feel free to relax.” His words carried a certain heaviness that Hajime could see turn into poison and pour out of his mouth, filling the room with darkness. “Huh, what happened? Your face looks kind of scary.”
Hajime's hesitation didn't stop him from preventing Nagito to starve, let alone piss oneself, so in an attempt to regain his patience, he decided to help him.

Summary
At first, Komaeda paid Hinata no mind, but little by little, he had begun to realise that, deep down, they were familiar. He had been granted a useless talent, and Hajime was talentless to begin with. A Reserve Course Student, on top of that, and even then, Nagito's classmates wanted him around. He had loathed how he had warmed his way up to the symbols of hope as if he had the right. He should be grateful, kneel and lick the ground over which his classmates walked.
Of course, Komaeda preserved the beautiful atmosphere when they reunited. Everybody was glowing and, somehow, Hajime always found himself being used as a stepping stone for hope. He admired from afar and, even then, in a room full of talented Ultimates, his eyes would unconsciously look for Nagito’s, which were already fixed on him. And just like all his classmates, Nagito wanted him too; he had realised.
So when Hajime confirmed that he'd attent the banquet organised by Teruteru, Nagito was excited about it, except this time, the Reserve Course Student opened the door to a room full of chaos. Even then, olive eyes scanned the room for his favourite tone of grey.

However, that didn't stop them from enjoying some time together as Hajime slowly lost his mind over it.

Junko’s AI had mocked him, claiming that he was nothing more than a bored god desperate to feel the sting of something real, and he wasn't sure whether the comparison amused him or merely bored him, since his expression gave nothing away.

Summary
On the way to Jabberwock Island, Izuru Kamukura finds himself sharing a boat cabin with a boy who, upon learning about his identity as the Ultimate Hope, seems determined to have himself repurposed by him.
Indeed, Nagito Komaeda has always believed in hope; he simply never expected it to take the shape of the dazzling figure in front of him, let alone that scum like him could be worthy of any of Izuru's attention, much less his touch or any other sense. However, he is proven wrong when Izuru guides him back into stillness before his mind can spiral into chaos, grounding him in reality.
Kamukura himself is surprised to find himself experiencing some firsts that he had otherwise never been curious about, leaving him to grieve the tomorrow they will never have. Once the Neo World Program began, Nagito would forget him, and they would never meet again as they were now.
Regardless, he wants to trust in Nagito's luck cycle, holding on to the possibility that, someday, it might bring them together again in a tight embrace.
