Notes:

I maintain that "Silences Within" is an *optional* prequel to this series as it stands. I absolutely think it fits, and I kind of wrote it to, but I think you can read it as a stand-alone, too, or exclude it, and the rest works just as well.

I have no idea if I'll do more with this series someday, but the chances are probably good.
