But on the inside, they are plagued by internal conflict, deception, and secrecy, and covering up scandals from millions of prying eyes can only work so long. Only time will tell when these numbers will crack and the truth will eventually be revealed.
(Or, 679 polyamory with copious heaps of drama and smut, because 67 is all the rage and 69 is becoming lost in the ancient texts. Also because this idea wormed its way into my head and refused to leave. It somehow follows a plot.)

Incorporated into a dystopian world where the feudal system is still in use, and members of the lowest feudal ranking are given numbers like prisoners to be used instead of their actual names. The rich get names, and the richer you are the more letters your name can have. While the poor don't even get their number on their graves. The numbers were a way to manipulate society into being ready for population control which is needed to preserve food due to a famine predicted to come soon. Arranged marriages between the rich and poor are extremely uncommon but still happen, those brought from poverty are usually chosen for breeding or servile purposes.
