“Look, Vi,” he called. Quigley was leaning over the large glass display. “This thing is full of old maps of the area. Some were printed before I was even born!”
She looked over his shoulder at the brittle maps laid out behind the grimy glass. Their route could be easily traced on them. From the start at the City’s courthouse to the halfway point at the Last Chance general store, onto the final destination for the day — a small cabin lost in the middle of Mortmain Mountains.
“Don’t we already have a perfectly suitable map?” she asked, before placing a quick playful kiss behind his ear. “And don’t you know this area like the back of your hand?”
Violet and Quigley stop at the Last Chance general store for fill up on gas and grab some snacks. What they don't know is they are about to run into a person connected to their past.

Violet Baudelaire knew better than probably anyone that some stories simply had no happy endings, and though it would be easy to believe that her own life and that of her siblings was one such story, a cloudy, quiet day at Briny Beach and an unexpected reunion has her questioning if perhaps they had a chance at a happy ending after all. Maybe, just maybe, no matter how much they had lost, good things could still find their way back to them in the end.

Uncle Monty knew exactly who 'Stephano' was, and when he confronted him in the parking lot Count Olaf threw away his plan to wait until they were in the privacy of Monty's home to get rid of him and make it look like an unfortunate accident.
Killing him in the parking lot, taking his truck containing the children, and driving off seemed good enough now.
Fortunately, some mysterious men came to their aid. The children were able to grow up with their Uncle Monty and learn more than they could have possibly imagined about the lives of their guardian and their parents.
(The Together We Make a Family series will be made up of this main story, and oneshots/short stories about different points in the Baudelaires' lives growing up with their Uncle Monty)

Or at least, it was normal until the Baudelaire orphans came along and brought count Olaf with them, the guy who made his way into your life worse than the Spanish conquistadors.
Where will your unsavory encounter lead to? Will it be more misery, or maybe redemption? And if so, for who?
