She thinks of the big lights everywhere on Times Square, the overhead signs for A NUMB#R, the show they didn't get to see. She thinks of the lights coming down on a stage that's covered in sorrow now, or the gentle lighting in the pit when they played other people's shows. Grief is a souvenir of love, an elegy for a broken heart.
