The jaged face, glowing body and string tail are not something a human would have, but the body language, even if reminiscent of a spooked prey, and the fact that comunication with language is possible, are more than enough concret evidence for person on top of the plain and simple feeling they give off.

“You’d want me to be honest,” you say to the family that are sleeping in tents around you. You pick at where you know a raised scar should be on your arm. It isn’t, but it will be when you wake up.
“Yeeeeesss….” Odile prompts. She looks to Isabeau, who shrugs, but smiles at you. Mira is nodding at you in encouragement. You can’t stop the small smile that comes on your face. They are acting normally. If you ignore how tired and ragged they all look.
“I think I’m having a very lucid nightmare where I’m back in Dormont, and I am stressed because you all shouldn’t have to go through the loops.”

"That does sound like the most obvious answer, doesn't it? But we bump into a bit of a shadeless area if we think about Mirabelle's needle sword under those lens. It doesn't offer any clear boons aside from being sharper and, as far as can observed, less prone for wear and tear. Nothing directly measurable, like Siffrin's gardening scissors, which makes his attacks stronger but slower."
Loop listens to you with an attentive gaze. When you're done, they close their eyes in a thoughtful way. You don't think you ever saw them look so calm.
"I see your point. It is a curious thing to think about."

Maybe it's because he disabled most of the traps in the House after being very bored? Actually it's definitely that. Realizing that when they have surely only a few hours left before the Heroes come they start panicking and go make some traps- wait what are those footsteps.
Meanwhile the party is confused by this dastardly villain(?). They are always one step ahead of them and somehow have traps that change each loop???
