Summary
In time, Obi-Wan would change his opinion of the boy, so many times, starting from annoying but also fascinatingly smart child, to crafty and cruel rule breaker, to violent and efficient enforcer, to his bratty opinionated lover, to dangerously effective weapon of a person. He would circle through all of Anakin’s stages, sometimes reverting back and jumping through a few.
In time, he would come to understand he loves this boy in all of his faces.
In time, he would learn Anakin loves him as well, unconditionally, at any moment. Be it with his eyes full of desire, with his lips on his or with those same eyes burning in scorching fire, with his hands bloody and his mind lost.
In time, they would both grow to understand more about what it actually means.

The next day, Obi-Wan carried his suit into the familiar shop. A tiny bell jingled happily as he stepped inside, announcing his arrival. The tailor’s shop had a distinct, comforting smell of fabric—cotton, wool, and silk—mixed with the warm scent of heated irons and slightly singed thread. Obi-Wan liked how atmospheric it felt inside and he didn’t mind waiting a few minutes to be greeted. The tailor’s shop was a place of meticulous craft and quiet workmanship for clients.
It took a few minutes but eventually someone came to the front of the shop, parting a curtain and entering the welcome area. Obi-Wan blinked in surprise. It was someone new. He had been expecting to see his usual tailor, a jolly and rotund man named Mr. Dexter, but instead there was a new man with a measuring tape over his shoulder and long, curly hair.

Now don't get him wrong, Sidious usually accounted for a great many things.
Potentially causing the end of the galaxy with a highly dangerous bioweapon? Yes, precautions taken.
Grievous or Dooku possibly getting tossed into the vacuum of space before the end of the war? Not ideal, but he could adapt somehow.
Windu and Skywalker somehow becoming the closest friends...ever? force forbid that should play out or he may be doomed...
Skywalker taking interest in and later marrying Senator Amidala? Yes, perfectly in the plans.
Should work out just fine.

...granted he does have to deal with a boyfriend/future husband who is just as chaotic as him, if not more so, but oh well, Skywalkers were well known for adapting on the spot.
Or at least he was, and most wouldn't call it adapting (in fact they'd probably call it just Anakin being...well, Anakin), but eh, what's the difference?
