Mink regards her wife's wide-eyed, eager smile, then glances down at her chest, then looks back up at Clear with something like dread behind her pretty eyes.
"No quartzes," she finally sighs. "And no aquamarine. That's too common around here."
"I thought aquamarine was quartz."
After a very long and painful moment of Mink glaring, she finally bites out a "hmph" and leans back against the headboard, silently inviting Clear closer with her free hand. "You get one minute," she grits out. "And aquamarine is beryl."
"Oh, of course, of course," Clear nods sagely. Honestly, she has no idea what the difference is.

Things have been strained between Mink and Clear ever since their kids were born. The night before Mink has to go back to work, they work on reconnecting.

Clear wasn’t human, and no matter how many times Aoba grovelled at the foot of a non-existent god, that wasn’t going to change. He knew that, and had long been forced to accept the fact as fragments of Clear’s robotic body had clung relentlessly onto his skin serving as a reminder for months on end. Although the worst of it was now over, every time Aoba began to let himself slip into a somewhat delusional reassurance, he’d be crushed by a subtle detail which would forever linger at the back of his mind.

Aoba, on the other hand, is just too dang popular and seems to have a never ending stream of friends and things he "forgot" to tell you about including a very annoying BF, Noiz, who has the hots for you as well. Time goes on and some past secrets get “Scratched” up to the surfaces - including the life you and Aoba used to live, who exactly are Virus and Trip, and dark tails form Koujaku's past that come back to haunt him.
