His first impression is none better. He finds Cole loud, talkative, and disingenuous. It’s only when they see each other for who they truly are that they find common ground.

His hair was a mess. The elastic band he normally used to portray his slick backed look and tame the frizz atop his head had broken in a scuffle and he had no ribbon to spare. Thankfully his hoodie served to hide it well enough as the rain wasn't doing him any favors but giving the hood an excuse to be up as they returned from their mission. Thankfully he'd managed to make it to his room without anyone seeing. Unfortunately for him, his luck wasn't turning good again just yet.

The ground rocks underneath him like he’s on a boat on rough seas. The room spins— not enough to have him stumbling, but he’s weaving a bit, maybe. It’s fine, he’s fine. The music is too loud, and there’s too many people but that’s… that’s nothing new.
Any amount of people is too many.
He’s got one palm flattened out on the wall to steady himself as he walks forward, the other hand curled around a red plastic cup, harsh smelling amber liquid sloshing over his fingers. Someone, somewhere, is talking to him— Jack, I think you should sit down— and they’re right, he should, but he’s not going to listen.
Jack’s on a mission.
He only has to make it another couple of yards. One foot in front of the other, easy does it, until he lets go of the wall to grab onto a man’s shoulder. There’s soft flannel under his palm, brown hair brushing his knuckles; the man turns and grins. Bright white teeth, soft pink lips, beautiful dark eyes.
Jack makes a noise in his throat. Can’t help it.
This guy’s the hottest thing Jack has ever seen.
The man’s smile goes wider, and he chuckles low, looking at Jack with a fond sort of indulgence.
“Am I, now?”

Hanzo’s perched over him, bare knees bracketing Jesse’s muscular thighs. It’s a position he’s found himself in before - gladly and willingly, like he’d ever complain about a naked Hanzo straddling him - but this is, well-
His eyes don’t move from the round band of silicone stretched around Hanzo’s fingers. It’s a dark teal in color, perfectly circular except for where Hanzo’s knuckles make the rubber distend and bulge from its original shape. And one of the outer sides is thicker than the others, flat-headed with something boxy underneath the silicone surface.
When he finally looks up to meet Hanzo’s eyes, the archer is smirking. “Genji said if you like something, then you should put a ring on it.”

“Happy birthday, love! I brought…” Hanzo’s voice trailed off as he opened his eyes and took in Cassidy’s appearance, setting down whatever expensive alcohol he had bought down on the side table. Cassidy’s eyes widened ever so slightly, not thinking Hanzo would be back from his mission a day early. He’d run straight to him, kiss him silly, and drag him in to bed with him if he didn’t feel like absolute shit. He was drunk off cheap, shitty alcohol, and had only talked to about one person today (unwillingly.), and he couldn’t get his own thoughts out of his head.

It’s Cassidy’s birthday, and instead of celebrating, his boyfriend’s away on a mission, nobody else seemed to remember (or they just didn’t care), and he can’t stop dwelling on the past. Hanzo finds him drunk and upset, and what better present then a good night?
