Summary
Season 6, episode 9, you know which scene.
Hey, writers? There were many ways to give Joseph Lawrence a beautiful farewell without totally fucking up June and Nick's characterization. I'm sure there will be many fix-it fics to prove this. Here's mine.
Each chapter is a different variation on how the scene could have gone down.-

Still, she couldn’t let him get on that doomed plane. He was Holly’s father. Her lover and partner, who had protected her, comforted her, cherished her, done almost every single thing she’d ever asked. His betrayal of one single Mayday operation could not negate all that. It was her turn, finally, to save him.“No,” she said aloud as he stumbled toward the jet’s door.
Nick froze, turned around to face her disembodied voice. She peeked her head over the SUV’s window, so he could see her distorted through the glass. Her face was tear-streaked, panicky. She shook her head at him urgently: no. They locked eyes. His lips pressed into a thin line as he considered what to do. Then he turned and walked into the plane with renewed energy.
June collapsed on the cement. He left. He saw me but left anyway. He chose Gilead.
What option did she have now, though? Run on board and grab him? Ridiculous. The Commanders had pistols; they’d surely shoot her on sight.
She knelt on the ground, face in hands, sobbing. Her heart felt like it was ripping in two. Heartbreak: what a fitting word. One of English’s best words. She vowed to wait there, kneeling like a handmaid on Ceremony evening, until the plane had taken off and the bomb had torn it apart. Torn her apart.
She didn’t look up as the whine of the engines told her the jet was leaving the hanger.
“June.” A gentle baritone saying one long vowel sandwiched between two soft consonants.
Her head lifted. Nick stood before her with a concerned expression. She stood up, ran to him, threw her arms around his shoulders, embraced him as tightly as she could.
“You didn’t get on the plane,” she breathed into his neck.
“You told me not to.”
She tried to laugh through her tears. The sound she made was more like a strangled cry. “You obey me now?”
“Well, I kinda assumed that if you’re here in this hanger, there’s probably a rebel with a hand grenade lurking around too.”

Summary
Warning: If you're looking for a story that ends beautifully and on a positive note for Osblaine, please don’t read this, this is not that story. This is the story where I want to dive into how deeply June’s betrayal hurt me and how much it would break Nick, if he found out.
As soon as Nick arrived at the airport, he felt something was wrong. But not even in his darkest dreams would he have imagined that the woman he loved so deeply was ready to condemn him to death - if he hadn't gotten off the plane before takeoff. He escaped certain death, but this realization still shattered his world into little pieces - irreparably.
