“No. If you hadn’t wanted to be caught, I wouldn’t have succeeded,” Javert clenched his teeth. Although both of them had known it before, now he openly admitted that Jean Valjean was stronger than him.
“So what are you doing here?”
“Three days,” he grimaced. “You asked me for three days. Will that be enough?”
The prisoner jumped up and immediately leapt towards the bars, making Javert take a step back, fearing an attack.
“Yes, three days will be enough! I don’t wish to escape, I simply must help this poor woman, allow me to do it…” Valjean said in one breath, then added quickly: “Monsieur l’Inspecteur.”***
Before his arrest, Valjean asked Javert for three days to find Fantine's daughter. He didn't agree to let a convict go then - but what if he actually considered the child's possible existence and this proposition?

The door swung open and Grantaire came face to face with the most beautiful man he’d ever seen in his life. He was tall,with thick golden hair that fell in loose curls around his face. His brows were thick and arched slightly; his mouth red and pouty; his nose long and straight. He looked like a Greek statue at the Louvre stepped out of his marble skin and into the University.
“Can I help you?” The most beautiful man asked, giving Grantaire a shrewd once-over.
“Uh,” said Grantaire. “I’m, um, your roommate?"
Going to university was probably one of the worst decisions of Grantaire’s life, but he's roommates with possibly the most gorgeous man to grace the University of Paris. Unfortunately, said gorgeous man is also planning a country-wide revolution against the French government, and he's rallying all his friends into the same protests. Between his art classes, his job at the Musain, and his friends' complicated relationships, Grantaire doesn't know if he can stand to watch the man he's fallen in love with die on the barricades too.

“Why don’t I walk you home?” Grantaire asked, his green eyes lighting up with something that Enjolras had an intimate knowledge of— the last time he had seen that look in Grantaire’s eyes was the last time he had come to visit— the last time he had seen him— the winter before that. That last December; the December that had, once again, changed something in the chemical makeup of both of their bodies; both of their hearts; the December that put them, somehow, back where they started.
Enjolras couldn’t hem or haw over the decision any longer; if he took too long to think about the offer, everyone would know— it was a miracle that they had managed to keep it a secret for two years, anyway. Though, Enjolras had told Cosette, and Grantaire had told Eponine— so was it even really still a secret?
“Come on,” Grantaire urged. “Seriously, this place has gotten weird ever since you left, we can’t have you walking alone at night, especially now that you’re not a city boy anymore.”
“Fine,” Enjolras huffed, gathering his things to go. “It was great to see all of you tonight,” he managed to get out.(or, the former-fwb-to-lovers one shot inspired by winterbreak and everything by MUNA)

Summary
He walked the cobble streets; blood that was shed earlier was now quietly seeping through the cracks, soaking into the road underneath. There it will remain, no matter the years or rain, watering the furrows of dead earth paved over by stone. For the first time, his hand shook, unsteadily, when he pinned his medal on that little boy who was nothing but flippant to him.
He believed that the Stars was the way God watched over his creation, but out here, in this dark and cloudy night, he felt that God was not keeping track of what went on. He had gone away.
He walked himself weary that night, trying to lose himself in Paris’ labyrinths. But fate seemed to have different plans for him, for he once again came face to face with Jean Valjean.
It seemed he would not be afforded the luxury of limbo — he must make a decision.
