Cosmo knew that Sprout had gone missing and that logically, he would probably have fallen victim to the corruption of ichor. But despite that… Cosmo had refused to think that. He just couldn’t bring himself to think of his best friend, his first friend, as hurt or even dead.
He couldn’t…
He had to still be alive. He just had to.
But now… Cosmo knew that he was wrong.

Brightney used her Night Light to illuminate the twisteds, and Astro used that to his advantage. Darting over to where Finn was slowly approaching, Astro cast a quick glance at a weird, new, unmoving illuminated figure before the lighting wore away.Whatever, it wasn’t important.

“...S-sprout…?” Cosmo whispered out, terrified at the sight of the person he held dearest now in this decayed state. A low rumbling was heard as Sprout tried to reassure the smaller one that it was, in fact, still him.
Cosmo started to cry, covering his mouth in disbelief. “Oh, Sprout… It really is you… I’m so sorry.” he sobbed. Cosmo felt something come up from behind him and he yelped and the newly clawed fringe on his friend’s scarf. Lifting up the pastry, Sprout examined him.
Hurt… Cosmo was… hurt.
Falling down on his rump, Sprout brought Cosmo closer to his face, and Cosmo could see the concern in the other’s eyes. Why was a twisted this… this sentient? Weren’t twisteds supposed to be mindless killing machines? Why was Sprout different?
Cosmo was brought out of his thoughts by something being shoved into his hands. Looking down, he recognized the small crumbles of one of Sprout’s cookies. He… How did he still have them? Would it be infected with Ichor? Cosmo didn’t know so he just held the gift with an awkward smile, worried about eating the thing.
Sprout let out a little grumble of annoyance and his one remaining normal arm grabbed Cosmo’s smaller hands, bringing them up to his face, forcing Cosmo to eat the cookie. “Oh no- uh Sprout I really shouldn-” He was cut off by the cookie being forced into his mouth with another annoyed whine.
Surprisingly, Cosmo felt a lot better, and checking his health, he saw he was fully recovered. Sprout must have also seen his best friend’s better health if the happy little whine said anything. “Wha- how did… how did you do that?” Cosmo asked, very extremely confused about how his friend did that.
Sprout’s left hand, covered in ichor and now clawed, came up in front of Cosmo’s face, three tapes on display. “...oh. I didn’t realize that you could still do that…” Cosmo muttered in amazement and also confusion. Sprout nodded in confirmation, his only visible eye closed in what would be a smile if he had a mouth.

“I like what you’ve done with your leaves by the way. It’s very… you.” He attempted to make a joke, and clearly succeeded with Sprout’s snort and shake of his head to show off his wonderfully ruined and stained ‘hair’.

He could hear Tisha sniffle but he couldn’t decipher if it was because of the Toon-turned-Twisted or the fact that the gumballs and candies had been dropped for nearly the sixth time in the past four minutes.
