Zuko smiles at her; he winces, feeling her hand on his – never quite used to the gentleness of other people’s touch, less so to the warmth of her skin. « It is very important for me to be here. », she whispers. « Thank you. »
Once again Zuko manages to catch a glimpse of the adventure-seeking, rebellious girl that challenged him and his beliefs, determined to find herself and her people’s power on her journey. « I should be the one thanking you. », he stutters clumsily. He feels terribly empty when Katara’s hand moves away from his – cold, all of a sudden: a type of coldness he has almost never felt before, freezing in guilt and regret.

Zuko finds himself in the MHA universe. How did he get there? How will he return? And why does this other boy have a scar so much like him?!
Romance, pining, and angst lay within these chapters. (Probably some eventual smut but not yet. Tell me in the comments who you think would be top or bottom 0w0)
In this fic, only ATLA is canon. I didn't watch Legend of Korra so Zuko never married or had kids. Aang still married Katara though.

The Hundred year war started, with the death of the Air nomads, as well as the Avatar, he'd been captured trying to escape, and was publically executed last, to show the destruction of the peoples hope. Years later, at the Southern water tribe, the avatar, without the Fire Nations knowledge, they captured the avatar, she never left. Desperate, the Avatar spirit sought refuge in a Earthbender who had already been alive for some time. He fought and trained valiently for many years, until he was over whelmed.

The choice is not easy. Twelve years later, the benders of the Foggy Swamp Tribe hold a secret that will change the course of the Fire Lord's war—the Avatar was not reborn into the polar water tribes; the Avatar is a little girl who bends the water in the vines and carries a sea serpent on her shoulders like he's nothing more than a screeching bird.
