She looked into the box out of curiosity, and the surprise she saw would permanently change her life.

“Not even when you realize what it means.” Coricopat reached out, too, tapping the back of Tantomile’s knuckles with his fingertips. “Some things cannot be worded.”
Tantomile tilted her hand, brushing it downward before she hooked it under Jemima’s chin. “Some things are only for your mind.”

Mistoffelees has been going to Jellicle Arts for one month when he learns that the 40th anniversary for the school is coming up within the next month, which of course will be celebrated with a party and performing from the students.
And Tugger is all too eager to sign up, however is denied unless he can raise his grades. Mistoffelees offers to help him study for an upcoming math test so he will be allowed to perform, which leads to them spending a lot of time getting to know each other better.
