Summary
Picks up in the car after the Suwa family showdown in Ep.12.
They have been partners for years, and they still are. They're just a different kind now, I guess? After making the drastic (and arguably psychotic) plan to leave the hitman business, Kazuki and Rei are forced to make a huge life transition. They have to become normal people. As they work together to adapt to this new and confusing life they find themselves developing new and confusing feelings as well. A continuation of what the anime set up, they are just two "best friends" trying to find a way through their mental illness, past trauma, and their everyday lives together. Unless, maybe there's more to it than that?
I wanted to dive into their near future but also elaborate on their past. So every chapter I am trying to include a current event and a related memory.

Rei frowned, eyes flicking between the papers scattered on the table and Kazuki’s face.
“Do they like me?”
“Obviously!”
“I don’t understand…”
“Oh for the love of—“ Kazuki face palmed—hard— before sharply gesturing to his partner, “You’re hot, Rei!”
He regretted the words the moment they were out of his mouth, lips smacking shut like a clamp, eyes practically bugging out of his skull, cheeks flushing red.

Summary
Kazuki and Rei were companions, just that. Neither had any interest in the other despite being complete opposites, not even in their many moments that they could have been breathing their own pheromones for so long.
However, like any routine, the body ends up getting used to it until it ends up falling into temptation.
It was such an unconscious moment that they did not have any time to realize that other than that they had had that encounter in the sheets about which they did not want to say anything, they simply pretended that nothing happened until the consequence of their actions suddenly manifested itself.

Miri is five and a half -- how did time fly so quickly?!? Kazuki drops her off for Kindergarten when he gets absolutely soaked by sudden weather. He comes home to Rei and softness ensues.
Set a year or so after the anime's main plotline ends. (I needed more of them)

Summary
Intimacy, in all its forms, was something that was completely foreign to Rei. It was drilled into him from day one that he was nothing but a weapon, a tool for the organization to use as they saw fit. The only touch he knew for the vast majority of his life was accompanied by pain, whether it was from his father hitting him across the face or a target being stubborn and grabbing onto him. They all stung, burned or bruised, and the very few that weren’t painful were harsh and cold at best.
That is, until he met Kazuki. Even from the first day they met, there was something different about him. There was a safety and kindness in his touch that Rei had never experienced before. He felt it when he was half conscious and starving in Kazuki’s arms right after Kazuki had tracked him down on that first mission. He felt it when Kazuki cut his hair the first time, taking the time to comb out every tangle without pulling too hard. He felt it every time they brushed shoulders walking, every time Kazuki threw an arm around Rei to drag him somewhere, every time they hugged or kissed or fell asleep in each other's arms.

“Dorothyyyyy? Can you help me? Texting is hard.” She giggled and took his phone.
“Who should I text?”
“Rei. He’s at the top of my contacts.” Kazuki said proudly. Dorothy smirked and quickly typed out a message.
“Aw! Is this him?” Dorothy turned Kazuki’s phone back to him, it was now on the Home Screen, which was a picture of Miri passed out on the floor. Rei was laying next to her on his side, letting her use his good arm as a pillow.
“Yeah! That’s him” Kazuki took his phone back and stared at the photo for a moment. It was one of his favorites
