    Summary

Her husband made the Sea submit. Beg. It sounded incredible. Unbelievable.
She had never had any reason to doubt him, never would, after he spent 20 years fighting to come home to her.
But, oh, how she wanted to see it. And see it she would.

    ___________________________

Penelope got her husband back, even if he now walks the halls like a ghost. So it is quite a surprise to see him well-rested one morning, and more so the reason why.
An invitation is given to the God of the Sea, and he is intrigued - desperate - enough after his encounter with Odysseus to answer. Time to meet the famed wife Odysseus was ready to maim a god to return to.

    Summary

“Do you remember the feast we promised?” Eurylochus asked, and Odysseus nodded. “Most of the men would stay and contribute to the arrangements. Pay our respects to the god to whom we may owe our lives.”

    Odysseus waited. Most.

“After the celebration, they would request a final act of generosity from you.”

“They want ships,” Odysseus said, the moment he realised this. Of course they did. Soft beds and warm meals or not, they had families to return to. They had miles to put between themselves and him—and those who were at home on Ithaca, well, they would likely try to go about their lives without ever encountering Odysseus again.

It looked like it pained Eurylochus to say it aloud, to mention this thing that had hung over them all along. “Yes.”

    “And what of the others?”

Eurylochus bit his lip for a moment, a flash of white teeth on dahlia-black ground. “The others would leave soon. Before the feast.”

    Summary

Given the ultimatum of his crew's lives or his own, Odysseus offers up a third option. If Circe's island taught him anything, it's that there are always other ways of persuasion.

Zeus seems quite enthusiastic to see how far the King of Ithaca is willing to bend to see himself home.
