“No, we are involved, Jancy, we’re dating, we’re just not dating. It’s not that hard!” Rosé was using that tone she put on whenever she knew she was being ridiculous but wanted to stick to her guns just for the hell of it. Jancy suddenly missed the casework she had been pouring over.
“I’m not wrong that you’re dating, you’re just not dating,” Jancy said, slower, and Rosé nodded. “Mmm. Okay. Not confusing at all.”

His ridiculous fucking coat, his little booties, his bare chest, and his hands fumbling with the joystick. He watches excitedly every time the claw lowers into the mass of plushies, tensing as the claw closes, and then deflating as the prospective prize slips through its grasp and drops back into the pile.
