“Detective True is definitely trying to sniff out Workshop business. Want me to kill her?”
“No,” Rose decided, “We don’t want that kind of heat. She’s too famous after cracking the Celestial Spear case.”
“If her reputation is true, it’s only a matter of time until she finds us.”
“Let her.” She tapped a finger on the photo of True. Excitement crackled in her gut. “I know how to make her talk.”

Or, Rose runs a thieves' guild called the Workshop. She's about to make a lucrative weapons trade with Prince Gyorik Rodgul when the weapon misfires and almost kills the prince. Realizing there's a traitor in her inner circle, Rose is forced to ask for help from the pesky detective that just broke into the Workshop's secret headquarters, P.I. Jancy True.

Summary
The first ghost Eugene saw wasn’t anyone he knew. It wasn’t even a human, but a racoon. Most ghosts were animals, actually. People always seemed surprised when he told them that, but they were everywhere, prone to violent ends, and noticeable in daylight.
Violence didn’t make a ghost — there were simply too many of them for that — but it seemed to keep them stuck in the world for longer.
Eugene is a lonely child and a lonely adult — until the Drawtectives.

The light on his skin is yellow and sickly, turned green around the edges from the starscape beyond the window. He blinks. There's a man in front of him, neatly dressed in a wax-colored uniform, one hand extended.
