It had been about two years before her fateful encounter with Fatalis. Hachi was enjoying the relatively quiet time she was having in the New World when she received a message from an Old World commander summoning her for a new mission in the Forbidden Lands. A relatively straightforward mission, they found evidence that civilizations existed in the eastern lands, and they wanted to make contact while also ridding themselves of a monster that was threatening life there.
Hachi expected to encounter new monsters, new dangers, perhaps more proof that the Black Dragon was right in its hatred of humanity, and others that proved it wrong...
... She never imagined she'd met creatures with such contradictory natures as hers.
(Or, Hachi, a human who by bizarre natural events now has a monster soul within her, goes to the lands where there are various regions and monsters created artificially by human hands. She doesn't feel comfortable seeing how eerily similar Arkveld acts compared to her younger self.)
