Summary
After several years stuck in an alien submarine at the bottom of the oceans on a foreign planet, Alterra maintenance technician Ryley Robinson hijacks the submarine's subsystems during an emergency warp. Drained of power, the submarine emerges right where Ryley wanted - the oceans of Terra itself, humanity's homeworld.
The problem being...while it's WHERE he wanted, in a vague sense, it's precisely where and WHEN the sub emerged that proves to be troublesome. Unable to remain in the barely-functioning submarine, Ryley ends up forced into exploring a decrepit undersea wreck of a base. One over seventy thousand feet below the waters of the North Sea, shrouded by an anomalous veil. The Hadal Blacksite is the final obstacle between Ryley and freedom, and he doesn't have a death-collar aimed at his neck nor a lack of tools at his disposal. But when one can't simply resurrect from death, it'll take more than brute force to get through the dangers presented by this facility.

She had been tranquilized at some point. Once she set foot outside the interior complex of the prison, she felt a sharp prick in the side of her neck. The next second, her knees were buckling, and she was being hoisted up into the back of a vehicle by her armpits, then sat upright and strapped into a seat. Joseph Romero settled in the seat across from her, fastening his seatbelts. He crossed his legs at the knees, resting his crossed arms over his chest. His face was hard, and his head was tilted back as he regarded her like a specimen in a lab. Her body lurched forward as the vehicle began to move, her head dangling on her limp neck. There were fingertips on her forehead, pushing her head back up. Joseph Romero withdrew his hand and scoffed when he could see her face again.
“Rest well, kid.” His tone was as cold as his new demeanor. “You’re going to need it.”-
