Summary
Marilyn Alden has lived her entire life within the stifling confines of Vault 31. Ever since she was young, she always felt a bit out of place and longed to explore the ruined world beyond the Vault's door. After the Vault finally opens its door to a select chosen few, the Scouts, Marilyn sees her opportunity. But when a century-old family secret leaves her dreams of leaving the Vault shattered, she decides to take matters into her own hands.
Life doesn't get easier outside of the Vault, as Marilyn soon learns as she ventures forth into the ruins of what was once New Jersey: Unhinged raiders, merciless mobsters, rampaging mirelurks, cannibalistic cults, and a mysterious green man. Welcome to the Wildwastes!
