His tongue wet his lips before his teeth bit down into them to stop the moan he had stuck in his throat from leaking out. “If I were to grab your hair, pull you across this table, and kiss you I think you’d like that a lot,”

OR, After going through two failed relationships back to back, Rin decides maybe Haru was on to something when he said he should just get a fuck buddy. And then he meets Aomine Daiki.

Samezuka was forbidden territory. That part of the sea was ruled by the mersharks, and every mermaid and their mom knew that the mersharks were dangerous and ugly. Vile creatures that only desired to rip other living things apart with huge, sharp, dirty teeth.
Prince Haruka had been told all his life to never find himself face to face with a mershark, just like every other mermaid had been warned. But unlike every other mermaid, curiosity gnawed at him.

Feeling ridiculous, Rin resists the urge to open the window behind them in pursuit of fresh air, and tries his absolute best to close his eyes and just sleep. 'it won't matter once we fall asleep' the frustratingly monotone voice of Haru's had said earlier.
'It's just a bed, a medium one, there's decent space between you and Haru.' Rin would repeat in his head, hoping that acknowledgeding how stupid this whole situation was, the easier sleep would come.
-Sharing a hotel bed in a too-warm Sydney winter shouldn't mean anything. But between the stifling air, unsaid words, and the weight of what they might mean, Rin finds that sleep might not be the only thing sneaking up on him.

He can see Rin’s eyes widen at that, ready to defend himself perhaps or utter some fake comfort.
“I’m alone in...”
“Don’t say that!” Rin answers quickly his eyes worried. “Perhaps we won’t compete together in the next championship, but we’ll be together, nonetheless. We’ll be together for all of it. In the world stage.”
Haru’s eyes are cold when they address him again.
“Together you say?” he tells him, smiling joylessly. “Like we were together all these years ago when you left for Australia, or that other time when you declared you’d quit swimming and then left again!”
Or a reimagining of the fight between Rin and Haru and then some resolution in the next chapters.
Second chapter is a reimagining of the Haru fainting scene but Rin is also there this time.
