He knew this and had accepted it calmly.
That's why he never expected to return to before the tragedy. To when Hope's Peak still stood and Junko Enoshima hadn't yet plunged the world into despair.

No importaba cuántas veces se intentara reconstruir un jarrón; siempre va a quedar un vestigio de que una vez estuvo roto. Porque la inocencia no se puede recuperar una vez robada y los errores no se pueden borrar una vez cometidos.
Lo sabía y lo había aceptado con tranquilidad.
Es por eso que nunca esperó volver a antes de la tragedia. A cuando Hope’s Peak aún se mantenía en pie y Junko Enoshima aún no sumía al mundo en la desesperación.
La ley universal de causa y efecto establece que cada acción tiene una consecuencia, aun si esta no se atestigua.

Kyoko Kirigiri works as head of the Investigation Department for the 14th Division of the Future Foundation. Leaving her office more, for a change, she begins to see Byakuya Togami more often, a man she has not been on good terms with, well, ever. As head of International Exchanges, he is rarely in the office. But when their boss, Makoto Naegi, sets them up as a team, they are forced to travel together to meet with international ambassadors to stress the importance of rehabilitation for victims of the tragedy.

He had been left floating inside long after "The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Terrifying Event in Human History", while the supposed purpose for his creation was to help bring the world to despair by Junko Enoshima originally, Chihiro Fujisaki had different intentions in mind, wanting revenge upon humanity from taking away the life of his beloved mother, and didn't see SONICFAN useful for his plans.
Sometime later, members of the Future Foundation go searching through previously-stated laboratory, trying to find any remains of it considered useful.
