Summary
Min-Gi and Ryan thought they'd make it big after leaving home to hit the road. After a few good years a sudden outing leaves them blacklisted and eventually homeless, the two soon unofficially adopting teenage runaway Grace and surviving as a family on the streets of Tokyo. One Christmas Eve they stumble upon an abandoned newborn baby and with only a few clues to her identity its up to them to search for her parents and learn new things about themselves along the way.

I've read one Apex!Jesse story and it's super awesome so here's my take on it! Also I just really really love "on the train" stories. Like, the aftermath is cool and all but the train is my favorite setting cuz you get to do whatever you want and it's plausible.
(The title is what it is because Jesse met the Apex right away and so the train (chance) of him having an easier time has left the station lol)

Instead of doing TW at the beginning of each chapter, I'm going to say right now that the story is dark and has violence against a multitude of persons, including the main characters (though that's mostly in childhood or flashbacks). It's an AU, centered around a few places, mainly a bookstore and can be considered a stalker AU. Grace is a bookstore employee and child advocate with a dark past and mysterious lifestyle and Simon is an author and bookstore regular who is intrigued by her, and maybe downright infatuated.
