Hal should have looked into it, he scolded himself. It would have been so easy for him, too. He could have just sat down, put his hand on the computer terminal in his office, and dove right in, using the flexibility and spontaneity and sheer recklessness of the human brain to hack through the systems on Shadow Moses with ease. Hell, he could have even walked up to REX and erased its computer systems within minutes, instead of hanging back and relying on Snake to do the dirty work for him.
But he didn’t, because he was a coward. And even before being a coward, he had been a mutant, and that was even more of a death sentence.
