Sebastian had seen his captain die more times than he cared to count throughout the simulation. Henry Singleton had urged him not to let his emotions get the better of him when he’d woken him up, warning him that it would take a toll to endure those hellish eight days over and over. Most of the time, Sebastian swallowed down the grief of watching Eyk Larsen succumb to his worst impulses and die in a desperate attempt to save his passengers and crew. It burned him, but it was survivable.
Yet, in all the times that had come before, Sebastian had never been the one to kill Eyk.
