Parisians often turned to face him in the streets, silently begging for a glance spared their way by offering cigarettes in place of communion wafers and wine. They thought that appeasing Sirius would bring them considerable fortune, if not in capital, then in their self discovery. Surely, seeing oneself through Sirius’ eyes would be a blessing. He was a prophet and rock n’ roll’s saving grace. He put critics to shame and elevated legends like Hendrix, Plant, and Morrison. He spat in the faces of nosy journalists and teased the media with black and white photographs of a rosary suspended over his abdomen. Long gone were the days of petty fights and desperation; his attention-garnering behavior had led him into a seemingly uncomfortable level of stardom.

TLDR: In his school years, Sirius insists that his and Remus' friendship requires physical altercations to stay true. Remus convinces him otherwise and unintentionally becomes the catalyst of Sirius' career as a musician.(lotsa petty fighting, drinking, and music. WIP.)

Sirius lowered the bottle from his lips, smacking them together in a way of mimicking a tut. “Possible publisher? You said you loved me.”
“I did not.” Remus was smiling now, his thumb brushing softly at the rim of his glass. “I said you were good.”
“You said my writing was great. Plus I’m pretty, so that’s a double win for you.”

Remus John Lupin; most people would’ve described the recently turned five year old as reserved and kind. His mother, Hope Lupin, knew him to be a smart trouble seeking menace, and his father, Lyall Lupin, recognising his younger self in his son, knew that his son would become a great wizard, just like himself.
As much trouble as he caused his parents at times, they loved him with the entirety of their hearts and would rather suffer the unbearable pain that comes with being cursed by an unforgivable, than have their boy in any kind of suffering.
The sad reality is that not even a week after little Remus turned 5, his entire life changed, and not for the better. As much as his parents would’ve wanted to take his place and suffer in his stead, they couldn’t. As much as Lyall wanted to rewind time and retract his vile words, the words that angered the one responsible for his son’s agony. He couldn’t.
Somehow one of the things that broke their hearts the most was how their son, who was once fascinated by the moon, who enjoyed observing the moon right before he went to bed, would never look up at the night sky again, as he grew abnormally scared of the moon, no matter what phase it was in.- Language:

To actually summarize would contain spoilers for how the plot is going to go and since I haven’t decided you’ll have to figure it out as I post just like I am as I write. I’m committing to a chapter a month, if I ever get to a buffer of more than 10 chapters I’ll post extra but I would not count on it. I’m a slow fussy writer apparently and tend to fall down accuracy checking worm holes.

"Yeah, Mum is going to give him a right bollocking later. I might just go to HR to see it." Sirius laughs.

"What? Reg usually fucks up jobs and makes sure all of the trains are fashionably late, as usual."
"No, not that part- what do you mean 'Mum'? Reg's Mum is the boss?"
"Yeah, and Reg is my brother."
Remus stares at him, jaw on the floor. "So your Mother owns the train company?"
"How else would I have gotten a job here?"
