The bartender watches him the entire time, as if tracking him like a hawk. He's tall, but in an unobtrusive way—not gangly, but slim, well-kempt. Despite the despoilation of the bar itself, he's dressed smartly, in a buttonup with a vest that's only missing a blazer. Yang Hao, who's listened to Su Wan talk about clothes, knows enough to know that they're not the cheap kind. He also seems to have no intent in talking, just watches Yang Hao as he cleans another glass and places it on the shelf, starts on the next. Yang Hao shifts under his gaze. "I...a beer," he mumbles, finally.
"You think?" The bartender raises a thin, finely-arched brow, as if mocking Yang Hao for his uncertainty.
Yang Hao bristles without meaning to. "No, I want a beer," he says, harsh and sharp, and catches a spark of something in the bartender's gaze that could, maybe, be surprise, and approval. He can't help but puff up a bit under the attention; there's a hint of something like satisfaction twisting in his gut at the sight.
