They’ll fall asleep tangled up together, in the same bed, under the same sheets. Dream will fall asleep with Karl pretty much on top of him.
They’ll meet each other in their dreams, in a world far, far away from the hell they face in reality. And in those dreams, they’ll be happy, they’ll never know sadness, and when the morning comes with Apollo dragging the sun in the sky, they’ll skip school, because they both deserve a day off.

Quackity couldn’t argue with that, but before either of them could do anything, the swirl started trilling loudly, then spun in the opposite direction faster and faster, glowing brighter and brighter. Both Sapnap and Quackity shielded their eyes from the light, then it was gone. In its place was a blearily blinking Karl. His usual brown eyes were a bright yellow with golden swirls inside. He looked dizzy and disoriented and his hands were up as if blocking an attack.
“Don’t feed me to the egg,” he slurred.
Quackity knelt next to him. “Karl, love, what’s going on?”
Karl looked at him, then Sapnap, eyes unfocused. “Dwew? James?” His head rolled back and Sapnap rushed to catch him before he hit the ground, cradling the older in his lap.
