I saw Genevieve Cogman speak at EasterCon this year, and immediately went out and bought her Invisible Library series - so I had to do a crossover with Good Omens.
Irene and Kai are looking for a book of prophesies in a remote world where dragons and Fae are not present. Instead, the magical forces are represented by angels and demons.
The book has been tracked down to a certain bookshop in Soho.
This should be an easy mission, shouldn't it?The PBFA is the Professional Booksellers' Fair Association, which holds antiquarian bookfairs around the UK.

Kai finds himself stuck in a car with his least favorite person for hours upon hours. He doesn't know which is worse: the fact that he's forced to cooperate with their ex-enemy Alberich, or that there's hardly anything to read while they wait for Irene to return.

(Big spoilers:) In this canon-diverging one shot, Alberich survived the purging of the Library's dark core, and after the tentative resolving of a lot of misunderstandings and old resentment, a sort of truce is established between him and the Library. This leads to him cooperating with them on a few tough missions where his dubious skills come in handy - and it wouldn't be the Invisible Library if the person in charge of these tough missions wasn't Irene.
In other words, my excuse to write a lot of Irene, Kai and Alberich interaction :-) -

It was warm and slippery. But not with sweat, instead it was slick with blood. A simple glance sideways confirmed it - her hand was now a cherry red as well, and Kai’s trousers were slowly starting to stain, blood oozing out from a wound somewhere near his stomach. There was grim determination on Kai’s face, but also so much pain. The agony you’d seen on a statue in church, one where the poet was determined to capture absolute misery.

In a mission gone wrong, Irene panics when she sees Kai is injured. A quick thinking, too vague use of The Language doesn't make it better; and Irene is left to battle off enemies and deal with an injured Kai.
Or~ While being pursued by werewolves, Irene has the wrong choice of words and ends up injuring her lover. She barely deals with it.

An alternate ending to the Untold Story
'Irene did not hesitate, grabbing Bradamant and hauling her up onto Kai's back, Vale behind her. Bradamant's breath was laboured but most importantly, she was breathing. The Library hadn't killed her just yet.'
Irene and Kai return to London and to Bradamant, left with serious injuries and certainly not out of the woods yet, but healing burns is a lot easier than keeping emotions in check.
