Canon divergent in that Zuko was with them from the start or joined much earlier than in reality, I leave it pretty ambiguous. Featuring mutual pining, jealous!Aang and a silly misunderstanding that could easily be resolved by communicating.

What if he listens to his demons and he interprets the task of getting back his honor as getting revenge instead of the Avatar? Here, in this abandoned village, he has to make a choice: Defect, accept his fate and move on to live a life outside the Fire Nation, or capture the Avatar. As his sister corners the fleeing Avatar with a predatory grin on her face, the fire prince makes his choice: Revenge against not only his sister, but by extent their father. But destiny is a funny thing, and now it’ll spin out a little differently than before for not only him, but the for the Gaang Azula, and Mai and Ty Lee.
